7.Whole machine is made of SUS 304 material which can meet standard of food hygiene completely and durable 8.Putting nuts into the hopper, regulate the ration-gate to make the nuts drop down. Thebanana slicing machine is easy to operate and clean. It has large capacity and fast slicing speed.Ħ. The final slice is no-break and smooth.ĥ. This machine is an advanced and professional nuts slicing machine.Ĥ. Nuts can be sliced into 0.3-2mm, which is adjustable.ġ.The banana slicing machine is suitable for other nuts as well, which needs switching cutters and the cutter can be specially made by buyers’ requirements.Ģ. The machine is with high efficiency, easy to use, dozens of times compared to the efficiency of the artificial, really saving work time.įeatures of Banana Chips Slicing Machine: The banana chips slicer machine is the specialized equipment for various nuts like peanut kernel, almond, cashew nuts and walnut kernel etc. Completely replace the bitter and tired of manual work. Equipment structure is reasonable, low failure rate, convenient maintenance, is ideal equipment for food export processing enterprises, frozen vegetable processing enterprises, the supermarket hotel to process kinds of fruit, vegetables. Product sliced by this cutter cutting has tidy shape, uniform thickness, yield of 99%, meet the demand of export products processing. This banana chips slicing machine is mainly used for cutting during the processing of fruit and vegetables, suitable for processing potato, lotus root, apple, pear, big radish, cucumber, taro biopsy stem, root, kiwi, and fruit and vegetables. The result of the study shows that the machine can slice root and tuber crops satisfactorily with slices ranging from 8 mm to 9 mm thickness were obtained.Banana Cutting Machine|Banana Slicer Machine|Plantain Slicing Machine The machine is therefore observed to perform best at the optimum operating speed of 41 rpm for all the crops selected except carrot. A throughput capacity of 135.7 kg/h at a speed of 41 rpm and efficiency of 96% was obtained for yam. Best result for small and medium size grade of onion we achieved at speed of 41 rpm with capacities and efficiencies of 44.6 kg/h, 71.6 kg/h, 91.7% and 96.4% respectively. Medium and large size samples gave good result for potato at a speed of 41 rpm with capacities and efficiencies of 72.8 kg/h, 88.9 kg/h, 97.9% and 94.8% respectively. A speed of 46 rpm was found to favour the slicing of large size crops only, while a throughput capacity of 48.9 kg/h and efficiency of 95.4% were obtained for carrot. The parameters that were investigated were slicing efficiency and throughput capacity. The performance of the machine was evaluated in slicing four selected crops (carrot, potato, onion and yam), grouped into three sizes (small, medium and large) at five machine speeds of 39 rpm, 41 rpm, 43 rpm, 46 rpm and 48 rpm respectively. The machine is powered by a three-phase, 1400 rpm, and 2 kW electric motor. The major components of the machine include the hopper, mainframe, conveying disc, slicing unit, slicing shaft, idler shaft, pulley, bearing, electric motor base and outlet. The objectives of this research was met as the machine has the capacity to produce plantain chips of uniform size in shorter time and a greater slicing efficiency of up to 96.84% while keeping the cost of the machine at an affordable price.Ī multi-crop slicing machine was designed, fabricated and evaluated for performance. This research focused on design and fabrication of motorized / power operated plantain slicer to meet the raising demands for plantain chips in Nigeria. They must hold the mandolin over the fryer so the plantains will fall in, which causes splashing of the boiling hot oil that occasionally hits and injures the worker. This development is very uncomfortable and tasking on the workers. These presents health hazards to both the worker, who may develop infections from their injuries, and customers who may consume an unsanitary product. Because of the rapid pace at which they slice plantain and the absence OF hand gloves on the workers, accidents are very often unavoidable. Worker will hold up to eight plantains in one hand and rapidly slice them using a wooden mandolin. After peeling, they must be sliced into discs to fry into chips. Plantain has a large amount of sap and this causes the skin to adhere to the fruit inside. The biggest obstacle towards attaining self-sufficiency in the production of plantain chips is the intensity of labor involved and the tediousness of the process which often culminate into prolonged production time. Shops are only able to fulfill approximately two-thirds of the demand. In Nigeria, plantain chips are in high demand and this demand is not being met by most small scale food industries and shops due to some critical factors.
